GSLA Safeguarding Children and Young People in Sport and Leisure.
This 3.5 hour workshop is a statutory requirement for all coaches and volunteers working with children and young people in sport and organised leisure activities and is part of the GSLA criteria for recognition as a Governing Body of Sport or Leisure Association. The course aims to help coaches and leaders identify and recognise the key principles of good coaching practice.
- Participants will be encouraged to identify ways of dealing with personal feelings about child abuse and what constitutes child abuse.
- Participants will be encouraged to recognise and respond to signs and indicators of child abuse.
- Participants will be supported to identify appropriate action if misconduct and/or abuse are suspected.
