Keeping in line with the GSLA Safeguarding criteria the GSLA Sports Development Unit ran a Safeguarding and Protecting Children Workshop offered to all Sports or Leisure Associations that coach or work with children and young people under the 18 years of age. Over 100 coaches have participated in these seminars over the past year.
Monitoring of coaches and leaders working with children and young people under the age of 18 years of age will start in September of this year, if coaches and or leaders do not meet the required criteria the sports or leisure association will be informed that they cannot continue with the booking until the relevant coaches and or leaders meet the GSLA Safeguarding Criteria.
Should your sporting association have coaches that are actively supporting children under the age of 18 and as of yet have not taken part in this workshop please contact the GSLA Sports Development Unit and make the pertinent arrangement to take part on the next workshop on offer.
