Summer Sports and Leisure Programmes 2026
Short-Term Vacancies

The Gibraltar Sports and Leisure Authority (GSLA) invites applications for Supply and Seasonal part
time posts from persons who by virtue of their citizenship are entitled to take up employment and
who are, or on employment will be, resident in Gibraltar. The posts are:

a. Sports Leader in Charge tenable from 29th June to 3rd September 2026.
b. Deputy Sports Leader in Charge tenable from 30th June to 3rd September 2026.
c. Sports Leader- tenable from 3rd July to 1st September 2026.
d. Stay and Play Leader in Charge tenable from 29th June to 3rd September 2026.
e. Deputy Stay and Play Leader in Charge tenable from 30th June to 3rd September 2026.
f. Stay and Play Leader tenable from 2nd July to 1st September 2026.
g. Sports / Stay & Play Leader (Supply) tenable from 2nd July to 1st September 2026.

1. Applicants for Sports Leader in Charge and Sports Deputy Leader in Charge must have
worked on the GSLA Summer Sports Programme for a minimum of one summer in the
position of Sports Leader or Deputy Sports Leader in Charge and must possess coaching
qualifications and some management experience.

2. Applicants for the Sports Leader posts must possess a minimum Level 1 accredited sports
specific coaching qualification which must have been completed face to face (not online), a
Level 2 Community Sports Leadership Award, currently undergoing/completed a sports
related degree or completed A-level PE or awaiting results. Applicants must also possess
written proof of practical experience of coaching in a sporting environment.

3. Applicants for Stay and Play Leader in Charge and Deputy Stay and Play Leader in Charge
must have worked on the Stay and Play Programme for a minimum of one summer in the
position of Stay and Play Leader or Deputy Leader in Charge and be able to demonstrate
management experience.

4. Applicants for the Stay and Play posts will need a written reference proving experience of
working and leading activities for young people with disabilities in a sport, recreational,
educational or leisure environment.

5. It is desirable that candidates for all posts have a first aid qualification.

6. A Statement of Particulars containing a job and person specification and application form for

8. Applications must be submitted ELECTRONICALLY to the Gibraltar Sports and Leisure
Authority on hr@gsla.gi and must be received by 12 noon on Thursday 5th March 2026
Applications received after this deadline will not be considered. Interviews will take place
between 27th, 30th and 31st March 2026.
