The 2020 Stay & Play Programme started in earnest on Monday 13th July in a revamped format featuring additional venues and smaller working groups. These changes to the makeup of the Programme were in keeping with Covid19 Public Health guidelines and obligated us to embrace a wider amount of venues locally.
This initially posed numerous logistical challenges, however once these were resolved and The Programme got underway, several positives have emerged from working under these unfamiliar conditions.
As well as the staple venue of the Bayside Sports Complex, the Accessible Swimming Pool and King’s Bastion Leisure Centre (including Commonwealth Park) have been incorporated more regularly into this years Programme, along with the exciting new addition of the Botanical Gardens at Alameda.
Substantial support has been received from the relative entities that manage the day to day running of these facilities and we are thoroughly looking forward to forging a prosperous working relationship for many years to come.
