GSLA SUPPORTING MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS WEEK 2024 LETS KEEP MOVING FOR MENTAL HEALTH

Exercise is also good for the soul

Exercise no matter how light or exhaustive (dependent on the level of fitness you are at and your body’s abilities) assists the body to become fit and healthy; whether walking, running, stretching or enjoying a sport of choice contributes to a healthy lifestyle, and in turn you will find that you have increased stamina, strength and flexibility. The heart will work more efficiently along with the lungs, you will release endorphins (our happy hormones), and this will also have a psychological effect of making you feel generally healthier.

How exercise reduces Stress:

  • Reduces tension
  • Produces endorphins
  • Improves and maintains good circulation and lowers blood pressure
  • Encourages creativity and problem solving
  • Improves self-image
  • Maintains good work/life balance

So lets get motivated and moving to support good mental health. Join a Sports Association of choice, enroll into a Gym or Fitness Class and become a member of the GSLA by joining our online booking platforms and enjoy the use of our facilities with your team mates, colleagues and friends.
